AI implementation in healthcare in the KSA is progressing at an breathtaking speed.

Saad Alhuzami, Chief Data and AI Officer of the Saudi Ministry of Health, shared an inspiring case study about the MOH Cortex project, at Global Health Exhibition - ملتقى الصحة العالمي .

It includes four building blocks:

1) The Agentic center: looking at the actual performance of agents, with dedicated AI agents focused on specific patient subgroups. This includes time-based and event-based agents.

2) The AI modeling center: centralizing all ML model development, including responsible AI controls.

3) An AI command center including digital twins to monitor the health of the population and avoiding that high risk populations even have to go to the doctor, in a longevity-at-scale. The map will tell you down to the individual region how many patients are at risks for certain morbidities so public health initiatives can be much more targeted.

4) the fabric center. This is the care orchestration approach that can be used by actual health care professionals in a very intuitive way.

I'd love to see other healthcare system adopt a similarly innovative approach.
