Happy New Year everyone!

As we step into the new year, I wanted to share a new AI tool that has caught my attention: Gemini Deep Research.

While I regularly use ChatGPT and Claude (both pro subscriptions) for their strengths, I hadn't given Gemini that much thought—until it recently came up in three separate conversations. That was enough to convince me to give it a try, and I'm glad I did.

## What makes Gemini stand out?

Gemini specializes in creating detailed, long-form research papers (around 10 pages) on your chosen topic. What's particularly impressive is its integration with Google Search, providing a wealth of referenced sources for deeper exploration. This makes it an excellent tool for quickly getting a comprehensive grasp of a new topic.

## My impressions so far

I've tested Gemini on a couple of areas I know well, and while it's not quite at the level of a full domain expert, the results are comparable to what a smart business school intern might produce - but in minutes instead of days. It's efficient, thorough, and a great starting point for diving deeper into a subject.

Of course, it's another subscription to add to the list (though it currently offers a free one-month trial). However, it is likely subsidized heavily at this stage, given the amount of compute that goes into this, which makes it a great time to try it out.

If you're looking for a tool to supplement your research and ideation process, Gemini Deep Research is really worth checking out. Have any of you tried it yet? I'd love to hear your thoughts or experiences!
