Insightful discussion at HLTHEurope in Amsterdam on the topic of "So you want to be a founder" with Oscar Boldt-Christmas, Dr. Nadine Hachach-Haram FRCS (Plast), BEM, Andrea Zitna, Kai Eberhardt and Ekaterina Gianelli.

Both Kai and Nadine highlighted the find a mission and passion, even obsession in you if you want to build in healthcare, and as Andrea suggested, "naive optimism", as this is a hard industry to build in. You don't necessarily have to have a medical background, but you need to really care about the segment.

The panel also acknowledged the "996" culture of constant hustling, this is pretty much a part of the deal, particularly for the founding team. Because of that it is important to find the right co-founder to surround you with. Trust and complementarity is crucial.

It is also important to get support from the right coaches that help you. Networking with other founders is also helpful to combat the potential loneliness at the top.

Beyond the founding team, it is mandatory to higher an outstanding team. Nadine specifically insisted on hiring people that are better than you.

Finally, make sure you have the right support network at home, and that your family understand what you sign yourself up to.
