Many think GenAI will replace data standards. They're wrong. In fact, for AI in healthcare to be trustworthy, GenAI makes standards more critical than ever.
That's the core of our discussion today at the SNOMED International Management Board meeting in Antwerp.
The question isn't whether standards like Snomed and LOINC are still relevant in the age of GenAI. The real issue is that the better the training data, the more reliable the AI. This is why using robust data standards is non-negotiable if you want an AI you can trust in healthcare.
Interestingly, GenAI is also becoming a powerful tool to make implementing these data standards easier and faster than ever before. Watch this space for future announcements.
