Participating in this week's SNOMED International board meeting here at the historic Midland Manchester hotel reinforces my conviction: SNOMED CT is absolutely critical for healthcare AI. As a board member, and chairing the Technology and Innovation Committee, working hand in hand with our member countries digital health experts, I see firsthand how this global standard transforms fragmented health data into a reliable, structured foundation.

For health tech & AI companies, this means the ability to train models (from ML to large multi-modal foundation models) effectively, deliver clinically safe insights, and ensure seamless integration with real-world systems.

SNOMED CT accelerates innovation and reduces the costs associated with inconsistent data, making it essential for any AI aiming to achieve real impact in healthcare.

P.S. I seem to be the only one in Manchester who wasn't at the Oasis concerts. Guess I'll catch the Gallagher brothers next time...
